About us
Co-Founders Lorraine McLaughlin and Sandra Monaghan live in North Ayrshire. Both have young adults with additional support needs. We work from our homes to allow us the work/life balance that we require from being carers.
We met over 10 years ago whilst taking part in North Ayrshire's Self Directed Support Pathfinder. We were part of a group of 10 families who had children with disabilities. We worked with NAC testing their processes whilst going through the stages of Self Directed Support. From needs assessments to support planning to finally receiving personal budgets. The end goal was to enable us to support our children in the way that suited their individual needs. For us as a group of individuals we found having the freedom to choose and plan our own support for our children was life changing.
Somewhere during this process the conversation started about sharing our experiences and supporting other families to have the confidence to take control of their own support needs, whether this was for a family member or themselves.
We support families throughout Ayrshire and in many other areas throughout Scotland. We bring first hand knowledge and experience of not only caring but also of managing individual budgets.
Choice and control is at the heart of what we do!! We help families explore their options through Self Directed Support.
Partners in Personalisation is a Community Interest Company (CIC). A not for profit social enterprise whose aims and objectives are to support individuals, families and carers throughout the process of Self Directed Support and beyond. Any profits made are re-invested to support more individuals, families and carers.
