Job Description
A fabulous opportunity for either an experienced Support Worker or someone just starting out in the industry. You will have the opportunity to take part in specific training courses from Downs Syndrome Scotland, Scottish Autism and Social-Care TV (CPD certification) which you will be paid for.
Providing one-to-one support to an 18-year-old young man with Downs Syndrome. Patrick is a very sociable person, and is interested in most sports, music, singing and dancing. Support would allow Patrick to attend many clubs and his college class, allowing him to achieve his goals and socialise. Patrick requires some assistance with personal care but this is mainly prompting and supervision when getting dressed and using the toilet.
Personal Specification
We need someone confident, outgoing, and fun – they should be comfortable working one-to-one.
Essential skills/experience
Caring experience, especially with Additional Support Needs is desirable but not essential.
Candidate must be a driver and have access to a car.
Successful candidate must be willing to participate in training courses (you will be paid for undertaking the training).
The successful candidate will be required to be part of the PVG Scheme and must provide minimum of 2 references.
Terms
£10.53 p/h – 17hrs per week
Mileage 45p per mile
Monday, Thursday, & Friday - occasional weekend required – plenty of notice will be given
