Personal Assistants - IRVINE

We are looking for additional workers to join our small friendly team.  If you have experience of working with children with complex needs we would love to hear from you.  You will be supporting 2 children (brother and sister) with complex medical needs.  You will support them at home and also taking them out to various activities.  On the job training will be provided and various shifts are available including weekends and sleepovers.

Key skills/experience:

​

• Experience in medically complex needs aswell as learning difficulties 

• Oxygen awareness

• Suctioning knowledge 

• Gastrostomy feeding

• Non verbal communication 

• Administrating various Medications (including controlled drugs)

• Managing behaviour 

• Ability to show initiative and remain calm in medical emergency situations 

• A valid driving license is would be beneficial but not essential

 

Key Duties:​

• To carry out all aspects of personal care including bathing and toileting which requires hoisting. Hoisting experience is preferred but initial training and shadowing could be provided if necessary.

• To prepare meals and assist with eating and drinking.

• To accompany me to any educational activities or social events in my adapted vehicle.

• A valid driving license is would be beneficial but not essential

 

Terms:

• £11.50 per hour

• 8 - 48hrs - Shifts to be covered between the additional team members

• Sat or Sun 10am-6pm (twice monthly)

• Sleepovers Fri 3:30pm - Sat 6pm or Sat 10am - Sun 4pm (1 sleepover per month)

• Shifts/Rotas agreed 1-2 months in advance between the team

 

The successful candidate will need to provide references and a PVG will be required before starting employment.
