Personal Assistants - Job Ref PIP-GS

Pay:         £12.50 per hour

Job Description:

We are a couple who received life-changing injuries in a Road Traffic Collision five years ago. We are now recruiting people to join a team of Personal Assistant/Carers to help us live a normal life in our own home in a rural location near Pitlochry. Your own transport will be helpful although there is a regular bus service.


We are both wheelchair users, one full-time who requires assistance moving in and out of the chair. You will be comfortable driving a Wheelchair Adapted Vehicle and hold a full UK licence. We have full cognitive function and will want to work with you to create a happy and cooperative environment.


We operate a flexible 12-hour shift system that includes sleep-over shifts at the same pay-rate as daytime working. Remuneration is above industry standard and there are opportunities for both full-and part-time positions.

  • Support with personal care and dressing - Husband

  • Support with transfers/moving and positioning - Husband

  • Assist with guided physiotherapy/exercise regime - Both

  • Accompany/drive to medical and other appointments - Both

  • Accompany/drive to social and leisure activities - Both

  • Assist with general household routine to maintain a safe, hygienic environment - Both

  • Assist with medication if required - Husband

  • Assist with meals if required - Husband

  • Assistance with wheelchairs when required - Both


Personal Specification

Candidates should be enthusiastic, adaptable and outward-looking. Experience in the field may be helpful but is not essential. Flexibility, common-sense and the ability to work harmoniously with others are far more useful attributes. Training will be available and initially you will receive in-depth guidance from existing team members.


Essential skills/experience

Full UK driving licence required.
