Personal Assistants required to work with Autistic adult in own home.
I am looking for a team of my own personal assistants, to support me with personal care, communication, safety whilst having fun along the way. I am in the process of changing from a company led service to a family run service where we hope to be open, flexible and whole rounded for all in our working style.
I am a 37 year old man on the autistic spectrum, I am epileptic and although I have no verbal communication I’ll find a way through my cheeky style to tell you what I want! I live alone in my own bachelor pad (flat), within close range of the Kilmarnock town centre.
I enjoy walking, sensory activities, watching films, listening to music, going out in the car, and most importantly a cheeky takeaway meal on a Friday night. So, if you like to get outdoors, food, and enjoy the company of others whilst knowing you are enhancing someone’s life at the same time, keep reading!
My family are my legal guardians as I struggle with communication and they are seeking out my dream team for me. Ultimately my team should want to enjoy their time with me, support me to have the best life all while having the perk of being paid for doing so.
No experience is necessary as I want the right people surrounding me, we will provide full training and ongoing support regardless of what skill sets you already have, this will include learning the best takeaway food joints around Ayrshire!
I can of course have some days where I am not my jolly self, don’t we all! During these times I may struggle to express myself which may present as self-injurious behaviour, or refusal to get out of bed. I also have no awareness of danger so I do need my team to be super vigilant and to be aware of my surroundings for me.
I love to be out in the car so a full valid driving licence and willing to drive my car is preferred.
